Snowden Defends Keeping Contract Info Away From Taxpayers.

Mississippi House Management Committee voted Tuesday that representatives can look at contracts made by the body, but said the documents, other than their cost, must otherwise be kept secret from the public.

House Speaker Pro Tem Greg Snowden, R-Meridian, said the vote restates longstanding House policy.

“Contracts have always been confidential,” he said.



    The taxpayers also deserve to know if our legislators are benefitting either directly or indirectly from those contracts.

    How taxpayer money is spent is always subject to oversight by the taxpayers themselves! Anyone who believes otherwise needs to be booted out of office!

    Not if tax payers funds are being used to pay for those contracts. We have the right to see if our representatives are being good stewards of our money.
