#WickerWatch: Roger’s Campaign Triggered Over McDaniel, Already Making Mistakes

Even though Senator Chris McDaniel has yet to declare himself a candidate for the US Senate for 2018, fear seems to be pervading the Wicker campaign. That’s blatantly obvious.

Roger Wicker’s campaign manager, Justin Brasell, has already stepped in it, in his zeal to attack McDaniel the non-candidate.

McDaniel’s name has hit the news in a big way in recent days, especially since Roy Moore’s big victory Tuesday night. Reports indicate that New York billionaire Robert Mercer has pledged money to help McDaniel.

That was enough to trigger Brasell, who in an article in the Daily Journal, pulled out the old attack lines used by Haley Barbour and the Cochran campaign in 2014.

“Sen. Wicker’s campaign is going to be funded by Mississippi,” he said. “I don’t think Mississippians want a New York billionaire picking their senator. I think Mississippians want to have a say in that.”

But he should have checked with his own campaign because the truth is far different than what he’s spinning. According to the website OpenSecrets.org, which keeps track of contributions, Wicker has received more out-of-state funds than he has in-state money:

And most interestingly of all, of all his out-of-state cash, the most came from … New York:

Their hypocrisy knows no bounds!
