Wicker’s support for filibuster is way for Democrats and liberal Republicans to further capitulate to the left.
Rob Chambers is vice president of AFA Action, which is based in Mississippi. He says Senator Wicker is part of the GOP establishment that refuses to get rid of the filibuster – in effect, says the group, defending Democratic obstruction.
“You had Luther Strange [the Alabama senator ousted by Roy Moore in a primary] – and now the poster boy for the establishment is going to be Roger Wicker,” Chambers tells OneNewsNow. “He’s up for re-election next year.
“Senator Wicker is one of the 30 who has basically dug in his heels in maintaining his support for the Democratic opposition,” he continues, “and [Democrats’] use of the filibuster to block any conservative legislation moving forward.”
AFA Action argues that keeping the filibuster rule (the rule requiring 60 votes to proceed) “is nothing more than a mechanism for Democrats and liberal Republicans to further capitulate to the left.”
Chambers contends that voters are fed up with the lack of things getting done in Washington and are prepared to hold these recalcitrant lawmakers accountable next year. Bannon is banking on voters doing just that.
