National School Choice Week Rally
January 22 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 amFree
Did you know 77% of Mississippians support school choice? They support the freedoms that come along with it and the fact that it puts the decision-making power back in parents’ hands.
Some families have been fortunate enough to take advantage of school choice, some find themselves #Waitlisted, and others sadly find themselves with nowhere to turn when it comes to education options. The landscape is expanding, but Mississippians want #ChoiceNow.
To that end, we invite you to attend the National School Choice Rally on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. at the Capitol. Over 1,000 students, teachers, parents, legislators, and state leaders will gather to celebrate the school choice that exists in Mississippi today, from Education Scholarship Accounts to charter schools. We will also use that platform to ask the legislature to expand school choice programs now so that more students have the opportunity to thrive.
Started in 2011, National School Choice Week is the world’s largest annual celebration of opportunity in education. More than 58,000 events across the country and around the world raise public awareness of the different K-12 education options available to children and families while also spotlighting the benefits of school choice. School choice gives parents the opportunity to choose the best educational setting and services for each student because every child is unique.
NSCW recognizes all K-12 options, including traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling. NSCW is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical, independent public awareness effort.
